Bringing to Rememberance

We learned who has been called to replace us in a few months. That has gotten us to think a lot and ponder on this mission. We look forward to returning to family and friends back home, but we also reflect on this road we have been traveling now for the last 18 months. Even more deeply, we think about and remember the many friends we have made over this time, and see each person as a blessing in our lives. As we have looked to bless the lives of others through Christ, we receive not only blessings but teachings on how to love one another. My Feet Hurt

How many steps does it take to make sore feet? It depends but probably about 16,000. That was an average of the steps we had every day with our middle daughter, Jacqueline, and her family while they visited us. After repeating this several days it takes a toll. Some days were more difficult than others but all worth the time spent with three of our grandchildren. In Psalm 56:13 it says "For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?"  We have been delivered from death and falling and look forward to more light.     At Cup O Noodles Museum in Yokohama.   Counter clockwise: Elder and Sister Melton, Leilani, Jackie with baby Scarlet, Aaron and Liliana  While enjoying our family we wanted to keep a presence in the mission by continuing some routines like waking at 6:30 am for our district prayer/phone call. Our Time Here on Earth

As we get older we notice even more the value of the time we have here each day. Not just on the mission but in all things. The Lord gave a commandment to the elders in Jackson County that can also apply to us in all parts of the world. That is: "Thou shalt not idle away thy time, neither shalt thou bury thy talent that it may not be known". Time to prepare is good and the training we receive is valuable. Zone Conference was an opportunity for zone leaders to teach about faith and hope in regards to companionships. They referred to Sariah in the wilderness and how she did not understand the visions of her husband and why their sons had to return to Jerusalem. When she had humility then she understood better. Sister Tueller spoke of preparing members to help and spread the invitation to go forth and invite. President Tueller spoke of the meaning of diligence. It is being valiant and consistent.
